Biographical Note

Kevin Smith M.Sc. (Mgmt); FCMA

Kevin pursued his early training and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant while working with Irish Biscuits. He subsequently joined a small start-up team to build and develop a fine chemicals plant for Armour Pharmaceuticals (now Reheis) in north Dublin, where he continued to work for a number of years as Financial Controller.

He moved to Cork to work on the building of another green-field plant for the manufacture of pharmaceutical active ingredients for Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH. Here he established and managed the Finance & Administration, Human Resources, Logistics and Commercial Operations functions for the company.

Concurrently he set up, and managed for a number of years, an international chemicals trading company in Shannon for the same parent company.

In the early 1990's Kevin completed an MSc in Management Practice and subsequently set up his own Consulting & Training business as Kevin Smith & Associates. His own main areas of expertise are in the areas of General Management & Business Development, Strategy, Finance, Enterprise Performance Management, Organisation & Human Resource development. He has developed and presents a number of both public and in-company training programmes as well as consulting and advising on business and management issues.

Kevin has worked with Henley Management College on their MBA and Management Development programmes and on a number of Irish Management Institute programmes. He is an Associate Faculty member of the IMI and also a qualified Franklin Covey Facilitator.
